So you often hear about real estate truly being a “people business”, and one of the unexpected and continually surprising things about this career is getting a glimpse of other people’s stories.
This one will stick with me.
Putting a home on the market for the first time in nearly 40 years means that there are nearly 40 years of life that happened in that home. Kids, family, holidays, pets, good times, bad times, and everything in between.
As someone who moved around a handful of times as a kid, and even more as an adult, it’s a real privilege to bear witness to someone’s story like that.
After a whirlwind open house and 20+ showings, we sat down to review 5 offers and were under contract less than 2 full days after going live. a testament to the hard work S put in to get her home ready and a dialed-in pricing strategy.
Every transaction teaches me something new and this one was no different. septic inspection and repairs, multiple negotiations, loan and appraisal complexities, and much more made for a longer-than-usual, bit of a roller-coaster experience for everyone involved.
All parties in this one were amazing. Clear and considerate communication with the lenders, and my first Windermere/Windermere transaction and it was truly excellent.
Everyone worked hard during this one – from before Thanksgiving all the way through the holidays to close right before the end of the year. It just speaks to having the right people on your team, on both sides of a transaction.
Cheers to new beginnings, honoring the time spent making a house a home, and hope and excitement for what’s to come.🌲
